Lake Crackenback Resort is a 4 1/2 star Novotel Property, located on the Alpine Way, approximetely 15 minutes drive from Jindabyne. The resort borders the Kosciuszko National Park and is weel worth a visit. The resort has its’ own trout stocked lake and you can actually cast a line from the balcony of your unit, into the lake! Fish over 3kg have been caught! The lake is fed by the Little Thredbo River, less than 1 km from the lake. Lake Crackenback Resort also has a beautiful fine dining restaurant, Bar & Cruisine on Lake Crackenback, which is actually suspended over the lake and provides a stunning setting for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The lakes foreshores are dotted with unique sculptures from a local artist who specialises in pieces that relate to trout fishing. There are BBQ’s, green grass galore and wandering wildlife, including very tame kangaroos and wild brumbies. The lake is also available for fishing to non-staying guests but please seek permission at reception as a courtesy. |
